Trauma-Informed Mindfulness & Restorative Yoga Series

ONLINE SUPPORT GROUP
Facilitated by: Latisha Torres LCSW
Start Date: July 21, 2025
Time: Mondays & Wednesdays, 6:00–7:00 PM

Group Demographic: Adults 18+ of all genders

Many of us are holding tension in our bodies and stories in our hearts that we haven’t had space to release. Whether it’s stress, grief, anxiety, trauma, or the emotional weight of daily life, it all shows up in the body. This group offers a space to gently return to yourself through mindfulness, breath, and supported rest.

This 6-session series blends trauma-informed mindfulness with restorative yoga practices to help participants reconnect with their bodies in a safe, accessible, and culturally aware way. Each session offers space to pause, breathe, notice, and soften. We are not here to perform wellness—we are here to practice presence, at our own pace.

As Audre Lorde reminds us, “Caring for myself is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation.”

The Purpose of the Group

This series will meet for 60 minutes, twice weekly, over the course of 3 weeks. All participants must commit to all 6 sessions. The group will offer participants the opportunity to:

  • Gently reconnect with the body through grounding and movement
  • Learn accessible, trauma-informed mindfulness tools to reduce stress
  • Practice breathwork and restorative poses to support the nervous system
  • Explore the mind-body connection without pressure or performance
  • Cultivate self-compassion, rest, and emotional awareness
  • Feel supported by a community of others on a similar path
  • Receive optional home practices to support integration between sessions

I specialize in working with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and relationship challenges including those rooted in childhood experiences with emotionally unavailable parents.
My approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, trauma-informed care, and coaching principles. I take a whole-person perspective, helping clients build insight, reduce overwhelm, and develop sustainable strategies for emotional wellness and growth. In addition to my clinical work, I facilitate therapy and wellness groups focused on mindfulness, trauma recovery, self-compassion, and emotional resilience.
