Parent of Pre-teens Support Group

Group Demographic: Parents of pre-teen children. Men and Women.

This group would be for parents of similarly aged children to offer support and guidance to each other, and bring their concerns to peers, to find out if there is a commonality to their experiences.

To serve as support to parents who are struggling with pre-teen issues like defiance, individuation, personal responsibility, screen time, personal space, autonomy, puberty, chores, school issues, behaviors, single parenting/co-parenting, blended families, nuclear families, hygiene. Parents could share stories, and experiences and advice.

Sarah Amnawah, LMSW

Sarah sees adults, couples and families. She ran groups on substance abuse addiction and recovery in the detox unit. From 2016-2019, Sarah worked for Jewish Board PROS Possibilities , where she ran groups and individual sessions and did intakes for chronically mentally ill adults.

Since 2020, she has been working with preschoolers with special needs, including autism, in special needs preschools run by Adapt Community Network. Now she is ready to return to her counseling roots and bring her knowledge of treatment modalities to her clients at BCS Group.
